School Enrollment

Enrollment Information

We cherish the opportunity to provide a well-rounded, Christ-centered education for your child.  If your child has ever attended a Christian school before, we welcome the opportunity to continue that education within our school's environment.  If your child will be new to Christian education, we look forward to providing a well structured curriculum while introducing them to their Savior.  Please contact our principal for further information!

Eligible children from Our Redeemer and other Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or Evangelical Lutheran synod congregations may enroll making application through the principal or pastor.
Non-member prospects may enroll their children subject to review and approval granted by the School Board. Children from non-member homes are required to abide by the same policies and course of instruction as outlined by the school. Before admittance to the school is granted, a three-session "Christian Education Class" must be completed by the parents.  This course is intended to help parents understand the value and purpose of Christian education as well as the basic doctrinal beliefs that will be taught to their children.

Parents wishing to transfer a child from another school to Our Redeemer must present records from the last school attended. All new students must fill out a registration form. Students entering our school for the first time may be given a grade-placement test. The school reserves the right to establish the grade level of any pupil. All students must be immunized in accordance with Wisconsin state law prior to admission. The completed and signed immunization form must be filed with the school prior to the student's first day of attendance.

Children enrolling in Kindergarten must be five years of age by Sept. 1, and Preschoolers must be age 4 by Sept. 1 or age 3 by Sept. 1.

Since the school is operated by Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, our primary goal is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with children.

Fees
All member and non-member parents are required to pay an annual fee for each child. This helps to pay for consumable books, supplies, field trips and other annual expenses. The amounts are adjusted annually.

There is also an annual tuition rate for all students.
Discounts are applied for families with three or more students. Monthly payment plans and/or financial assistance is also available. Please contact the school for updated amounts.

Curriculum
The curriculum and course of instruction are in accord with the requirements of the State of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. In order to keep our course of instructing as current and effective as possible, our staff involves itself in an ongoing process of professional development and continuing evaluation of the school. A detailed Curriculum Handbook is available to interested parents who would like to learn more concerning our objectives and expectations in various subjects and grade levels.

Religious subjects such as Bible History, Catechism and Hymnology are taught, as well as the secular subjects of reading, literature, mathematics, social studies, history, science, English, current events, music, art and physical education. The curriculum is enhanced at all levels through the use of computers and technology.

Extra-curricular opportunities are also available. They include such areas as band, Junior Choir, forensics, piano, volleyball, soccer, basketball, cheerleading, softball, track and special events including a math meet, spelling bee and fine arts fair.

Transportation
Parents are responsible for providing transportation for their children to and from school. Car pooling is often coordinated among parents of various neighborhoods. Those living more than 1.5 miles from school may receive a transportation reimbursement for the Madison or Verona school districts.

Daily Schedule
The outer school doors are opened at 7:30 a.m. so that students may wait in the entry way. Students are then allowed into the classrooms at 7:45 a.m. with school starting at 8:15 a.m. The school day is dismissed at 3:15 p.m. School supervision ends at 3:30 p.m. For those who are unable to pick up their children at that time, an after-school care program is available for a minimal hourly fee.
